Gilad Sharon Reflects on His Father's Legacy

Gilad Sharon, son of iconic general and prime minister Ariel Sharon – whom David Ben-Gurion hailed as “the greatest field commander in the history of the IDF” – offered reflections on his father at three Israel Bonds events May 20 and 21.

Sharon spoke to New York Israel Bonds leaders at the residence of Ambassador Dani Dayan, Israel’s consul general in New York; New Leadership representatives at Bonds headquarters; and at the home of national board member Dr. Andrew and Barbara Hutter.

In emotional remarks, Sharon discussed his father’s guiding principles, both as a soldier "who wanted to win by clear victory” and as a politician “who felt he was doing what was best for the country.”

Sharon is currently engaged in plans for the Ariel Sharon Center for Leadership, to be located in the landmark environmental project Ariel Sharon Park.  He said the center will “share my father’s legacy with the world.”
