At the 'Night to Honor Israel' event held November 6 at the New World Center in Miami Beach, $525,000 worth of Israel bonds were purchased by Florida municipalities in honor of Israel’s Consul General to Florida Lior Haiat for his outstanding work and commitment to Florida and to the Jewish state. Deputy Consul General of Israel to Florida Kasa Bainesay-Harbor, Bal Harbour Mayor Gabriel Groisman, Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Giménez, Miami Mayor Francis X. Suarez, and Miami Beach Mayor Daniel Gelber presented Consul General Haiat the sum in three checks, offering him sincerest wishes and a fond farewell as he returns to Israel to assume the role of spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
