ALBANY

  • On May 9th the Capital District/Albany Israel Bonds Executive Board held its annual Prime Minister’s Club reception honoring outgoing member Eitan Evan. Bonds President & CEO Izzy Tapoohi was guest speaker. The event, held at the home of Dr. Gavin and Karen Setzen, resulted in over $1.6 million in Israel bond purchases.








ATLANTA

  • The northern Atlanta suburb of North Fulton held its first-ever Israel Bonds event on March 22. Co-sponsored by Congregation Gesher L’Torah, Chabad of North Fulton and Dor Tamid, the evening, held at Gallery Events, featured Avi Jorisch, founder of Red Cell Intelligence Group, which specializes in national security issues .



BALTIMORE
  • The annual award presentation to top-level Israel bond investors was held May 2nd at Beth Tfiloh Congregation. Shown from left are Mark Smolarz CFO,THE ASSOCIATED Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore; Alan Dorenfeld, Maryland Israel Bonds executive director; and Bruce Sholk, chairman of the board, THE ASSOCIATED. CINCINNATI

  • Fifth Third Bank hosted the Israel Bonds annual corporate and institutional luncheon on March 13. The event, at which over $10 million in Israel bond investments were announced, included an educational program for representatives of area banks, insurance companies and foundations, and featured Matthew Levitt, senior fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy.






  • Beth and Louis Guttman display a gift presented in appreciation of their hosting a Bonds campaign meeting and dessert reception at their home on March 13. Matthew Levitt, senior fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, was keynote speaker. Over $2.5 million in Israel bond investments were announced.


CLEVELAND

  • Israel Bonds President & CEO Izzy Tapoohi visited Cleveland for meetings and events with local leadership and area business leaders, including a luncheon for corporate and institutional investors hosted by former Bonds chairman of the board Michael Siegal, and a campaign cabinet meeting/dessert reception hosted by National Women’s Division board member Anita Siegal.

  • The Women’s Division held an open board meeting March 14 at Saks Fifth Avenue, featuring Israeli-designed clothing and accessories. Susie Rubin is Cleveland Women’s Division chair.
     








COLUMBIA

  • National board member John Baker and wife Marcie hosted an evening of dinner and discussion for the inaugural Columbia, South Carolina Women’s Division event on March 12. National Women’s Division Chair Helene Herbstman addressed the gathering, chaired by Esther Greenberg and Gail Lieb.




COLUMBUS

  • PNC Bank hosted the Israel Bonds annual corporate and institutional luncheon on March 14. Representatives of area banks, insurance companies, foundations and government heard from Matthew Levitt, senior fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. More than $20 million in Israel bond investments were announced.

  • Lindsay and Joey Schottenstein (pictured) hosted a campaign meeting and dessert reception at their home on March 14 featuring Matthew Levitt, senior fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. Local and state officials joined the more than 60 people in attendance.




DALLAS

  • Angela and Gary Horowitz hosted the Dallas Prime Minister’s Club reception in their home on March 22. Over 60 people attended the reception, which featured Bonds President & CEO Izzy Tapoohi. Over $4.2 million in Israel bond investments were announced.

  • A chance to meet heavyweight boxer Yuri Foreman drew nearly 50 people to a February 29 New Leadership reception. Foreman studies Talmud and Jewish mysticism in the mornings, trains for boxing in the afternoon and attends rabbinical classes in the evening.

  • On May 10th, New Leadership co-chairs Hannah and David Loev hosted the second annual New Leadership reception. Over 60 people heard Amy Beth Oppenheimer, creator and director of Faces of Israel, discuss her unique program, which focuses on the nature of Israel as a Jewish state.

  • Pastor Becky Keenan of Gulf Meadows Church spoke on “Understanding Christian Support for Israel” at an April 3 Women’s Division luncheon  at the home of Ellen Lowe.











LOS ANGELES
  • The Women’s Division held a welcoming reception for Bonds President & CEO Izzy Tapoohi February 29 at the Four Seasons Hotel. MIAMI
  • More than 100 people turned out February 21 for “Motoring through the Millennium,” an exclusive preview of the new Dezer Collection - which holds a huge collection of classic cars spanning decades -before it opened to the public. The VIP evening also featured a sampling of Israeli wines. Speakers included Michael Granoff, head of oil independence policies for Better Place, and Israel Bonds national board member and former New Leadership chairman Bob Diener. NEW YORK

  • Join Israel Bonds at the Israel Day Parade, Sunday, June 3rd, 11 AM – 4 PM. Walk with the Israel Bonds float along 5th Avenue from 57th Street to 74th Street. Participants receive an Israel Bonds T-shirt. Contact parade@israelbonds.com.




  • Rabanit Estie Abadie welcomes Ambassador Yehuda Avner to Safra Synagogue on Monday, May 7th. Ambassador Avner was ambassador to Great Britain, an advisor to prime ministers Eshkol, Meir, Rabin and Begin, and is the author of the bestselling book, The Prime Ministers. The event resulted in over $60,000 in Israel bond purchases.

  • The Real Estate New Leadership Division turned the trendy SPiN New York ping-pong social club into a night of networking and spirited competition. The March 21 event included courts, drinks and appetizers.

  • David and Louise Rascovar and son and daughter-in-law Lee and Linda Rascovar were honored January 23 at the Fountains Country Club tribute dinner in Lake Worth, Florida. More than $500,000 in Israel bond investments were announced. Bonds President & CEO Izzy Tapoohi joined in the tribute.

  • Rabbi Barry and Aileen Konovitch were presented the Star of David Award at the Temple Anshei Shalom Israel Bonds Brunch held January 29. Over $500,000 in Israel bond investments were announced.







PHILADELPHIA

  • New Leadership held its second annual Yom Ha’atzmaut carnival April 26th at the Merion Tribute House. Over 320 children, parents and grandparents enjoyed an evening of games, moon bounces, jugglers, magicians and aerialists. An Israel Bonds booth provided opportunities to purchase bonds online. Jen and Mike Willner were event chairs. Amy and Daniel Erlbaum, Beverly and Gilead Morse, Margie and Brian Wargon, and Elana Weinstein and Ken Brownstein created the carnival, which has become the signature event of Philadelphia New Leadership.

  • On May 2nd the Women’s Division  held its 46th annual Home & Art Tour at Penn Oak Farm, home of Marlene and Gene Epstein. Lunch followed at the Bridgetown Mill House, and the day concluded at J. Seward Johnson’s Grounds for Sculpture.







  • The Real Estate & Financial Services Division’s 12th annual Power Lunch, held January 11, honored Campus Apartments President & CEO David J. Adelman. The event, held at the Union League, was attended by 255 people, and $33 million in Israel bond sales were announced. Boston Globe columnist Jeff Jacoby was guest speaker.

ROCKLAND COUNTY
  • The Rockland County Women’s Division held its annual brunch on Sunday, February 12. The event, which honored 12 outstanding women for their dedication and leadership, featured Sigalit Siag, Israel’s consul and chief fiscal officer for the Western Hemisphere. The event was attended by 230 participants, and more than $650,000 in Israel bond investments were announced.

ATLANTA
  • The annual Prime Minister’s Club reception, held on February 23, featured Bonds President & CEO Izzy Tapoohi and Georgia Attorney General Sam Olens. Over 100 people attended the reception, which also honored outgoing Atlanta Bonds chairman Mort Aronson and welcomed incoming chairman Joe Rubin. Earlier in the day, New Leadership members Richard Kopelman and Gavin Cobb hosted a luncheon welcoming Tapoohi to Atlanta.

CHICAGO
  • Dr. Steve Feinstein, Dr. David Hakimian and Dr. Murray Salzman were honored at the annual Medical Professionals Division dinner on Sunday, November 13. Israeli high-tech entrepreneur Jon Medved was the featured guest.

DETROIT

  • Israel Bonds was a sponsor of the 60th Annual Jewish Book Fair, Tuesday, November 8 at the Jewish Community Center of Metropolitan Detroit. The featured guest was Gilad Sharon, son of Ariel Sharon and author of The Life of a Leader, a biography of his father.

NEW YORK
  • The Israel Center of Conservative Judaism in Queens welcomed Hila Elroy, advisor to the consul general, Israel Consulate, on November 29.
